Capybara River Wonders Singapore takes place from 3 April to 3 May 2026, bringing the internet’s favourite animal into a real world experience.
More than just a themed event, it offers a rare chance to see these famously chill animals up close. Visitors can also learn what makes them one of the most fascinating species in the animal kingdom.
A Rare Look at Singapore’s Capybara Family
At the heart of the celebration is a male capybara pup born to Muniek and Luna. He is now making his public appearances at Amazonia Encounters. Visitors can observe the family during scheduled enrichment sessions. Here, the capybaras interact with specially prepared items such as ice cakes and treat filled toys.
These sessions go beyond photo opportunities. Keepers share insights into the animals’ social behaviour, diet and care routines. This helps explain why capybaras are known for their gentle and sociable nature. Beyond the main enclosure, guests can also spot other members of the capybara group, including Lester and Dexter. They appear during the Once Upon a River presentation and along the Amazon River Quest boat ride.
Redeem limited edition Capybara Merch
Guests can pick up a Capy Fan Card and embark on the Capy Crew Trail. This interactive experience guides them through the park. As they explore various checkpoints, they uncover fun facts about capybaras while completing simple tasks along the way. Along the route, they will also encounter themed photo points placed throughout the park. These offer plenty of opportunities to capture memorable moments.
Those who complete the trail can redeem limited edition merchandise and refreshments, making the journey both engaging and rewarding.
Be a Capybara Zookeeper for a day
River Wonders has a social media contest where visitors can stand to win the Ultimate Capybara Experience – Be a Capybara Zookeeper for a day. To take part, simply post a photo or video of your favourite capybara moment on Instagram, Facebook or TikTok, and share the name of the capybara you enjoyed most.
Six winners will be selected to receive the prize, which includes the opportunity to be a capybara zookeeper for a day, along with an exclusive interaction session and admission tickets.
It is a rare, immersive experience that offers a behind the scenes look at how these animals are cared for, turning a simple visit into something far more memorable.
