This 137-Year-Old Sichuan Eatery in Singapore Has 50% OFF Your Total Bill For 4 Days Only

Written by Kelly Khor

Wo Wo Dian at Raffles City is marking its second anniversary in Singapore with a limited-time 50% off promotion and a new lineup of dishes designed for sharing.

The restaurant started in 1889 in Sichuan, China. The brand is known for its handmade steamed buns, which use traditional laomian sourdough. This method creates a soft and chewy texture and adds deeper flavour. The technique is part of Mianyang’s intangible cultural heritage.

New Dishes For The Anniversary

The anniversary menu introduces several dishes designed for sharing.

First, the Orange Peel Fish Fillet features crispy fried fish coated in a citrus-based sauce. The sauce balances sweet, sour and savoury flavours.

Next, the Crispy Sweet and Sour Pork uses thinly sliced pork instead of chunks. The kitchen pairs it with a sauce made from aged vinegar. As a result, the dish has a sharper flavour profile.

In addition, the Salted Egg Yolk Shrimp and Tofu combines silky tofu with shrimp in a rich salted egg sauce. Vegetables balance the dish and keep it light.

Signature Buns Remain The Highlight

The new Shrimp and Bamboo Shoot Bun adds to the core menu. It combines juicy shrimp with crunchy bamboo shoots in the signature dough.

Meanwhile, diners who prefer milder flavours can choose Golden Cod Fish Fingers or Crispy Cod Fish Nuggets.
