Mooncakes? Already? We had the same reaction. While most brands have yet to reveal their Mid Autumn plans, The Black Pearl has become one of the first restaurants we’ve seen to launch its 2026 mooncake collection. Even more surprising is the packaging: a mother of pearl inspired keepsake box that looks more like a luxury jewellery case than a traditional mooncake gift set.
The collection, named The Celestial Pearl, brings together four baked mooncakes in a deep purple keepsake case inspired by mother of pearl heirlooms. It is clearly designed for people who enjoy the gifting ritual as much as the eating.
Four New Flavours, Including One For Tea Lovers
Instead of repeating the same safe flavours, The Black Pearl has introduced an entirely new lineup for 2026. The collection balances traditional mooncake flavours with more modern combinations.
Baked Skin Custard Filling with Egg Yolk
This is the rich, indulgent one. It features a light and creamy custard centre with egg yolk, wrapped in low sugar white lotus seed paste and encased in a gold dusted charcoal crust.
Low Sugar White Lotus Seed Paste with Double Yolk
For traditionalists, this keeps the classic white lotus and double yolk pairing, but with a lower sugar profile. It is designed for those who still want the savoury richness of salted yolks without an overly sweet finish.
Longjing with Pumpkin Seeds
This may be the most interesting flavour in the set. Premium Longjing tea is infused into low sugar white lotus paste, bringing gentle tea fragrance and light vegetal notes. Pumpkin seeds add a subtle crunch, making this a good pick for tea lovers.
Purple Sweet Potato with Milk Lotus
Purple sweet potato gives this mooncake its earthy sweetness, while milk lotus paste softens the flavour with a creamier finish. It is the kind of flavour that feels familiar in Asian desserts, but still different enough for a mooncake box.

Pre orders are available from 1 July to 25 September 2026, while stocks last. Redemption is available via self collection or islandwide delivery from 1 August to 24 September 2026.
