PAUL Brings Back French Inspired ‘Mooncakes’ For Mid Autumn Festival, But They’re Actually Tarts

Written by Kelly Khor

PAUL’s annual Mid Autumn mooncake collection returns this year with what it calls Moon Tarts — French inspired buttery tarts created for the festive season instead of conventional mooncakes. Each Moon Tart features the bakery’s signature crisp, buttery tart shell filled with pastry style fillings inspired by both Asian and Western flavours.

Four new flavours this year

  • Genmaicha Mochi – Toasted popped brown rice, silky matcha ganache and chewy mochi create a nutty, earthy dessert.
  • Yuzu Sesame – Fragrant black sesame cream is paired with tangy yuzu curd for a refreshing balance.
  • Maple Pecan – Light maple ganache and buttery pecan praline offer roasted, caramel-like flavours with added crunch.
  • Double Chocolate – Dark chocolate ganache sits on a fudgy brownie base inside a chocolate tart shell, finished with caramel pearls.

Each box contains eight Moon Tarts, with two pieces of each flavour.
