Queenstown Sport Centre reopens on 8 August 2026 with a spacious new gym, upgraded pools and a World Rugby-standard field. Singapore’s first neighbourhood sports complex opened here in 1970. Today, the renewed centre combines modern facilities with familiar heritage features.
A fitness hub for workouts, classes and community activities
A new building houses a spacious gym and two activity rooms spanning approximately 1,000 sqm. The gym includes flexible zones for high-intensity interval training, bodyweight exercises and strength training.
The gym also features HUR machines, which use air pressure instead of traditional weight stacks. Users can adjust the resistance in smaller increments. As a result, the equipment is more suitable for seniors, persons with disabilities and visitors with mobility concerns.
The activity rooms will host programmes such as kickboxing, yoga and Zumba. Meanwhile, sheltered outdoor spaces provide additional room for community activities.

A World Rugby-standard field in the heart of Queenstown
The upgraded rugby field now features artificial turf designed specifically for the sport. It also meets World Rugby standards, giving Queenstown a venue that can support higher-level training and competitions. In addition, teams now have access to new changing rooms, restrooms and preparation spaces.
The running track around the field has also been resurfaced. Therefore, the same venue can serve both competitive athletes and residents heading out for an evening jog.

Four pools, better accessibility and a surprising diving upgrade
The swimming complex retains its competition pool, learner’s pool and two wading pools. New flooring now covers the pool deck. A mobile pool hoist, new ramps and a central lift also make the centre easier to navigate for persons with disabilities and visitors with mobility concerns.
Behind the scenes, Team Singapore divers can use a new dry-dive facility to practise repeated movements without landing in water.

National Day carnival at Queenstown on 8 August
Queenstown Sport Centre marks its reopening on 8 August 2026 with a National Day carnival from 4pm to 9pm. Visitors can join KpopX Fitness, Pilates and yoga sessions. There will also be family activities, giveaways and live entertainment before the night ends with fireworks.
Entry to the carnival costs S$5 and is payable using ActiveSG Credits. However, visitors can enter the gym and swimming pool for free throughout the day.
