People are queuing for carrot cake because the owner is handsome af

Many people who ate the Father & Son’s carrot cake are left very thirsty because of this hot, young hawker.

Meet Walter, 30. At a glance, you wouldn’t believe this ripped bodybuilder is a hawker.

Why join the hawker business?

In 2015, Walter’s business closed down and he was lost. Thankfully for the encouragements from his family, he decided to pick himself up and joins the family business.

Life as a hawker is hectic due to the long hours. But Walter still finds time to gym,  six times a week, before heading down to the stall to help out.

The Carrot Cake

The carrot cake Father & Son serves is not too oil and has a good blend of carrot cake and fried egg. The taste is also rich and a nice mix of sweet and savory. You got to try the white carrot cake for the slight charred texture. Each plate is only selling at SGD$2.30!

Where is he? Where are the stalls?

Even though Walter started helping his father at the Bukit Panjang Hawker, he is more frequently helping his mother at the newly opened Kampong Admiralty stall these days.

Father & Son (父子档)
Where: Bukit Panjang Hawker & Market (2 Bukit Panjang Ring Road)
Operating Hours: 0430hr – 1600hr (Close on Thursday)

Mother & Daughter

New 3km walking trail launched at Kallang brings back memories for our parents

The Singapore Sports Hub launched a new heritage trail on Sunday (May 12), bringing back several heritage markers and artworks, in hopes to preserve and invoke some good memories, especially for those of us who had been to Kallang in the yesteryear.

This new 3km educational walking trail revolves around Singapore Sports Hub and is split into 3 parts – Waterfront, Stadium and Park trail.

What to look out for…
Merdeka Lions

We have heard alot about the Merdeka generation recently. The Merdeka Lions are iconic stone lion statues that guarded the two ends of Merdeka Bridge in 1960. However, the original statue has since been shifted to SAFTI Military Institute. What you will see at this trail are replicas.

14 Uniquely Designed Re-purposed Benches

These timber benches were re-purposed from the former National Stadium and these specially designed installations bring vibrancy to the trail.

Time to put on your jogging shoes and share some quality time with your parents at this brand new heritage trail!
