Hotel buffets in Singapore can easily cost over S$80 per person nowadays.
So when Sofitel Singapore City Centre’s Racines announced a limited time “2 diners for S$68++” promotion for its new all you can enjoy buffet, it immediately caught our attention.
Called “Feast of the Straits”, the dinner experience focuses on comforting Southeast Asian flavours inspired by Singapore, Penang, Malaysia and South China.
A Buffet Built Around Straits Comfort Food
Instead of offering hundreds of random dishes, Racines keeps the menu focused on familiar crowd favourites.
Highlights include:
- Straits Style Laksa with tiger prawns and coconut broth
- Singapore Style Hokkien Mee
- Angus Beef Cheek Rendang
- Nyonya Assam Curry Snapper
- Chicken Satay
- Racines Ngoh Hiang
- Crispy Tahu Telur with spicy peanut sauce
The laksa in particular looks especially hearty, featuring thick rice noodles, tiger prawns, fish cake and fried beancurd puff in a rich coconut broth.
Meanwhile, the Angus Beef Cheek Rendang is slow cooked with turmeric infused coconut cream and potatoes.
To end the meal, diners can enjoy desserts such as Rose Panna Cotta with rose syrup, condensed milk and lychee popping jelly, alongside tropical fruits.
