Singapore’s Kids Festival Monstrous Fun 2026 Returns With Monster Parades, Interactive Stories And Creative Play

Imagine a children’s festival where monsters are not scary, but adorable little creatures that encourage kids to read, create, dress up and explore.

That is exactly what Monstrous Fun 2026 is all about.

Organised by Arts House Group, the annual children’s literary festival transforms The Arts House at the Old Parliament into a whimsical playground filled with storytelling adventures, interactive performances, creative workshops, monster hunts and family friendly activities.

And from 29 May to 31 May 2026, the beloved festival officially returns to Singapore for another three days of imagination, creativity and playful chaos.

What Not To Miss At Monstrous Fun 2026?

Families can look forward to a lively mix of interactive storytelling, creative workshops, musical performances, monster themed activities, hands on art experiences, literary inspired games, drop in activities and the much loved Monster Parade.

Monster Parade The Arts House Lawn 4:30pm to 5pm Free Suitable for kids aged 3 to 12, families can stomp, roar and parade through Singapore landmarks alongside resident monster Britney.
Monster Hunt All Around The Arts House 12pm to 5pm Free Families solve puzzles and hunt for magical password pieces to unlock the enchanted Chest of Stories and help the Monsters find their way home.
Magical Sweet Monsters: From Yuck To Yum! Blue Room & Living Room 12pm to 12:45pm & 2:30pm to 3:15pm S$5 Kids aged 5 to 12 can turn their biggest fears into quirky sweet monsters through this imaginative art workshop inspired by the Magical Sweet Gula comics.
Journey West – Web Of Deceit Chamber, Level 2 1:30pm to 2:30pm & 3:30pm to 4:30pm S$5 Join Sun Wu Kong and friends on an interactive Journey To The West adventure filled with spider demons, clever tricks and magical chaos.
Growing The Arts House Lawn 12pm to 4:30pm Free Children can paint pebbles and help build a colourful monster garden that grows wilder throughout the festival.
Lines Film Gallery, Level 1 12pm to 4:30pm Free Scribble, doodle and add your own twists to a shared monster storybook where every new line makes the tale funnier and wilder.
Monsters Have Feelings Too! Living Room 2:30pm to 3:30pm Free A lively storytelling and puppet making session where children explore emotions, empathy and creativity through lovable not so scary monsters.

Tips Before You Go

  • Arrive earlier if you are planning to join popular workshops or performances.
  • Dress comfortably because children may be walking, moving and participating in activities.
  • Let your child come in a monster inspired outfit for extra fun.
  • Bring water, especially if you are planning to stay for multiple activities.
