Singapore’s Newest Floral Art Exhibition Lets You Build Your Own Bouquet And Take It Home

Written by Jon Phay

Most art exhibitions let you admire the artwork, but this one lets you take it home.

Making its Southeast Asia debut this June, Cj Hendry’s Flower Market transforms thousands of plush flowers into an interactive experience where visitors can create their own bouquet and leave with part of the exhibition.

Become A Florist For The Day

Held at IMBA Theatre, Flower Market is filled with tens of thousands of plush blooms. Visitors are encouraged to browse, select and arrange flowers into a bouquet of their own.

Rather than feeling like a traditional exhibition, the installation feels more like stepping into a whimsical floral world where everyone gets to play florist for the day.

Why Flower Market Went Viral Overseas

Previous editions in New York, Hong Kong, Abu Dhabi and Sydney attracted huge crowds and widespread social media attention.

So what made a room full of flowers become such a global hit?

Flowers are universal.

Almost everyone has memories attached to them. Some have received them, some have gifted them, and others simply associate them with special moments in life.

By transforming something familiar into something playful and oversized, Hendry has created an experience that feels accessible to almost anyone.

Singapore Gets Exclusive Floral Designs

The Singapore edition will feature more than 30 flower varieties, including several created specially for this showcase.

Among them are the Papilionanthe Miss Joaquim, Singapore’s national flower, the Raffles’ Pitcher Plant and the Singapore Ginger Flower.

These additions give the exhibition a distinctly local identity rather than making it feel like another stop on a travelling global tour.

In addition, visitors will get to see flower designs that were created specifically for Singapore.

Every Visitor Receives A Complimentary Flower

Entry to Flower Market is completely free.

Better yet, every visitor receives their first flower complimentary, giving guests the opportunity to leave with a keepsake from the experience.

Pre-registration is encouraged, although walk-ins are welcome.

Then Comes JuJu World

Following Flower Market, IMBA Theatre will host the world premiere of JuJu World from 20 June to 18 July.

Inspired by Hendry’s popular JuJu collectible series, the experience transforms the venue into a giant inflatable universe filled with bold yellow installations and oversized playful forms.

While Flower Market focuses on creativity and self-expression, JuJu World promises a more surreal and energetic experience.

Together, the two experiences represent Hendry’s most ambitious presentation in Southeast Asia to date.
