Grand Copthorne Waterfront Launches AI Powered TCM Afternoon Tea That Picks The Best Tea For You

Written by Dania Rae

Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel Singapore is putting a high tech spin on the classic afternoon tea. From July 2026, guests can enjoy an AI powered Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) assessment before they are matched with one of ten personalised herbal teas created by local wellness brand Luli.

Your afternoon tea begins with an AI tongue scan

Instead of choosing your tea from a standard menu, you start with a complimentary tongue scan using an AI Mirror.

First, the system analyses the appearance of your tongue in under 30 seconds. Then, using Traditional Chinese Medicine principles, it identifies your TCM body constitution, such as Qi Deficiency, Yin Deficiency or Damp Heat.

After that, you will receive a personalised recommendation from Luli’s range of ten functional herbal teas. As a result, every visit may feel slightly different depending on your body’s needs.

Freshly brewed using patented extraction technology

The tea is not brewed the usual way either. Instead, Aiteaic prepares the recommended tea using its patented nanobubble high pressure extraction technology.

According to the company, this method preserves up to 97 percent of the herbs’ active compounds. At the same time, it helps create a smoother and less bitter cup.

Best of all, the entire journey from scan to freshly brewed tea takes less than two minutes.

Some of the herbal blends available include:

  • Ziziphus, Lily and Poria Tea with delicate floral and berry notes.
  • American Ginseng, Goji and Chrysanthemum Tea, a warming blend traditionally associated with vitality.
  • Tangerine Peel and Dendrobium Tea with refreshing citrus notes.
  • Malva Nut and Monkfruit Tea, a cooling and soothing herbal blend.

For something more indulgent, guests can also add personalised wellness mocktails or low alcohol cocktails inspired by their AI assessment. This means your drink pairing can feel unique to you, rather than just another standard high tea add on.

Wellness inspired desserts complete the experience

The afternoon tea menu has also been created to complement the personalised herbal teas.

Highlights include a rich 66% chocolate mousse infused with American Ginseng and Chrysanthemum Tea. There is also a Chrysanthemum Chantilly served with tea soaked sponge cake for a lighter floral finish.
