From 3 to 12 July 2026, the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre will host REMIX 2026, its annual youth festival spotlighting how young Singaporeans are interpreting local Chinese culture today. Across two weekends, visitors can explore 11 arts and cultural programmes spanning theatre, dance, music, photography, games and design.
A haunted school CCA room with live Chinese orchestra music
One of the highlight for the festival is ff, an interactive musical experience set in a haunted school CCA practice room.
The performance brings together horror theatre and Chinese orchestra music, featuring the erhu, yangqin, sheng and percussion. With local composer Sulwyn Lok designing the soundscapes, the show leans into nostalgia, insecurity and that very Singaporean memory of after-hours school spaces feeling a little too quiet.

Escape Themed Room
For those who prefer solving clues over sitting through a show, REMIX The Mission: Ah Ma’s Secret Recipe turns the entire SCCC building into a game zone.
Participants will move through the Centre, piece together clues and test their knowledge of local Chinese culture and dialects. Think of it as part cultural treasure hunt, part escape-room-style challenge.

DIY herbal milk tea, but make it cultural
One of the festival’s more unique experiences lets visitors create their own Traditional Chinese Medicine-inspired herb blend before having it brewed into a customised cup of warm roasted milk tea. Presented in collaboration with AMACHA, Botanica Brews offers a hands-on way to explore traditional herbal ingredients through a modern café-style experience that is easy to enjoy with friends.

Street dance battles return with an instrument blindbox twist
REMIX The Dance, the festival’s yearly street dance showdown, is also back.
This year, the competition takes inspiration from different Chinese music styles and adds an “instrument blindbox” twist, which means dancers will have to react to surprise musical elements during the battle. Expect freestyle moments, high-energy performances and the kind of unpredictability that makes live dance battles fun to watch.

Beyond the headline attractions, visitors can also explore a behind-the-scenes Chinese opera photography exhibition, catch live jazz and original music performances, join open jam and open mic sessions, and watch the festival’s first-ever a cappella showdown.
