What would it feel like to spend an evening in old Hollywood?
This April, Capitol Theatre brings that feeling back with the latest edition of Classics at Capitol, transforming a movie night in Singapore into something a little closer to the golden age of Hollywood.
Currently showing is North by Northwest (1959), Alfred Hitchcock’s classic spy thriller widely regarded as one of the greatest films ever made. Starring Cary Grant at his smooth and debonair best, the film follows an innocent man caught in a dangerous cross country chase filled with espionage, mistaken identity and Hitchcock’s signature suspense.
It is the kind of film that deserves more than a casual watch at home. Seen inside the grand setting of Capitol Theatre, North by Northwest feels exactly like the sort of glamorous big screen event that defined moviegoing in decades past.
