This June, Great World (formerly Great World City) is swapping shopping bags for push ups and burpees.
From 19 to 21 June 2026, the mall’s Level 1 Atrium will be transformed into a full-on fitness arena for RoxStars, a high-energy fitness challenge designed for kids and teens aged 7 to 16. Think mini HYROX vibes, but built specially for children.
Instead of another June holiday spent on iPads, tuition, or hearing “I’m bored” every two hours, RoxStars gives kids something way more exciting — six action-packed fitness stations where they will push sleds, row, squat, carry weights, and launch themselves into burpee broad jumps like tiny competitive warriors.
What Exactly Is RoxStars?
It is Great World’s first-ever arena-style fitness event and also one of the first mall-based challenges of its kind in Singapore.
Inspired by global functional fitness races, the event is specially designed by expert coaches from MobKidz by Mobilus, one of Singapore’s largest functional fitness gyms, to make sure every challenge is safe, fun, and intense enough to feel like a real achievement.
Participants can join under two categories:
- Kids Category: Ages 7 to 12
- Teens Category: Ages 13 to 16
Each challenger gets 30 minutes to complete six stations that test strength, endurance, agility, and coordination.
No gym experience needed. Just show up in sportswear, covered shoes, and the right amount of confidence.
Here are the 6 stations they need to conquer.
| Station | Kids Category (Ages 7–12) | Teens Category (Ages 13–16) |
|---|---|---|
| Ski Machine | 30 seconds (Damper 1) | 30 seconds (Damper 3) |
| Ball Squats | 10 reps with 4kg wall ball | 15 reps with 4–6kg wall ball |
| Row Machine | 60 seconds (Damper 1) | 60 seconds (Damper 3) |
| Sled Push | 2 laps with 15kg | 2 laps with 40kg |
| Farmer’s Carry | 2 laps with 2.5–5kg dumbbells (each hand) | 2 laps with 7.5–10kg dumbbells (each hand) |
| Burpees Broad Jump | 2 laps (2 x 10m) | 2 laps (2 x 10m) |
Father’s Day Special: Dads, You’re Not Safe Either
Since the event lands on Father’s Day weekend, Great World is also launching a special Father & Kid category on Sunday, 21 June, from 3pm to 6pm.
This means dads can stop pretending they are “just here to watch” and actually join the challenge.
The Father & Kid category is designed as a team experience where both parent and child work together to complete all six stations. It is sweaty bonding, but with medals.
Honestly, probably better than another awkward Father’s Day dinner where everyone just stares at the menu.
What You Get
Every participant walks away with an exclusive race kit that includes:
- A water bottle with carrier
- A sports bag
- An exclusive medal
- Professional event photography
- Lifelong bragging rights as an official Great World RoxStar
There will also be professional photographers onsite during race days, and photos can be downloaded from Great World’s website from 1 July 2026 onwards.
Because if your kid survives burpee broad jumps, that moment deserves documentation.
How to Join
To participate, simply purchase an S$20 Great Rewards e-Voucher through the Great Rewards app or at Great World’s Customer Service Counter on Level 2, then complete the online registration with proof of purchase.
Each e-Voucher allows:
- One participant for Kids or Teens category
- Or two participants for the Father & Kid category: one dad and one child
For S$20, this is honestly cheaper than some café brunches and probably burns more calories too.
