Kids Can Get “Swallowed” By A Giant Whale At This Massive June Holiday Festival In Singapore

Written by Dania Rae

This June holiday, Children’s Museum Singapore and Armenian Street are transforming into a giant playground packed with LEGO stations, bouncy castles, interactive eco games, and even a massive 9 metre whale puppet that families can step inside.

Children’s Season 2026 returns from 30 May to 28 June with a month long line-up of family friendly programmes happening across 21 museums and institutions around Singapore.

Organised by Children’s Museum Singapore, this year’s edition revolves around the theme of sustainability, encouraging children to become “Earth Superheroes” through play, storytelling, creativity, and hands on experiences.

A Giant Kids Carnival Is Happening At Armenian Street

The biggest highlight this year is PLAY @ Children’s Season 2026 Weekend Carnival, happening from 12 to 14 June.

The carnival stretches from Children’s Museum Singapore to Lewin Terrace and Armenian Street, turning the area into a lively family play zone during the June holidays.

Expect interactive booths, outdoor performances, workshops, games, installations, and activities designed to get kids moving, creating, and learning while having fun.

Kids Can Step Inside A Giant 9 Metre Whale Puppet

One of the most eye catching attractions is The Whale’s Tale, an interactive outdoor performance featuring a gigantic 9 metre whale puppet.

The larger than life experience combines clowning, slapstick comedy, storytelling, and environmental themes, allowing families to get up close with the giant whale and become part of the adventure.

There Will Be LEGO, Bouncy Castles And Sustainability Games

Families can also enjoy a huge range of carnival activities throughout the weekend.

Kids can bounce around at inflatable play zones, build creations with LEGO bricks, make gemstone rings using recycled materials, try mini football challenges, and take part in recycling themed games.

One activity even teaches children how reverse vending machines work by showing them which drink containers can earn 10 cent refunds.

Children Can Become “Earth Superheroes”

Beyond the carnival, Children’s Season 2026 also features four Signature Programmes happening across different venues in Singapore.

At Children’s Museum Singapore, Ms Nat and the Zero Waste Heroes transforms children into mini eco warriors as they work together to lower a rising “Waste O Meter” through storytelling and hands on challenges.

Meanwhile, The Coral Keepers at Singapore Maritime Gallery lets families explore ocean conservation through theatre, games, and coral reef building activities.

At KidsSTOP™, The Four Harmonious Friends follows four animal characters learning how to live harmoniously and sustainably together.

Another programme, Raja and the Lost Journal at Indian Heritage Centre, takes children on an interactive adventure exploring how Singapore’s early migrants reused and reinvented resources creatively.

Families Can Visit 21 Museums And Collect Stamps

The popular Stamp Booklet Activity is also making a return this year.

Families can collect stamps from 21 participating museums after completing activities at each venue, with prizes awarded based on the number of stamps collected.

Participating locations include National Gallery Singapore, National Museum of Singapore, Singapore Maritime Gallery, Science Centre Singapore, Singapore Navy Museum, ArtScience Museum, and more.

Singapore’s First International Day Of Play Celebration

This year’s edition also marks the first time Children’s Museum Singapore is celebrating International Day of Play.

Held annually on 11 June, the global initiative recognises every child’s right to play and highlights the importance of play in learning, wellbeing, creativity, and social development.

For parents, this basically means your child gets to run around screaming, build things, make a mess, and still call it educational.
