Singapore’s First Thai Food Street Opens at The Centrepoint With 11 Food Stalls, Crispy Kway Teow & Chang Coffee Beers

Written by Jon Phay

Singapore’s first Thai food street is coming to The Centrepoint this December, bringing 11 Thai food stalls, crispy fried kway teow and Chang Espresso beer on tap to Orchard Road. Named Soi Stories, the 270-seat space brings together two award-winning Bangkok hawkers and nine original food concepts curated by Michelin-starred Chef Ton.

Opening in early December 2026, the food street covers everything from Thai coffee and toast for breakfast to holy basil rice, curries and market-style desserts. Meanwhile, an in-house drinks bar and a Thai retail pop-up give you a little more to explore between meals.

Bangkok Hawkers Serving Crispy Kway Teow and Holy Basil Rice

One dish to look out for is Thai stir-fried rice noodles with chicken (guay tiew kua gai) at Kua Kai Ai Khao. The cooks stir-fry wide rice noodles with chicken and egg over high heat, creating lightly charred edges and contrasting textures. It offers a different starting point for anyone who usually goes straight for pad Thai.

The Bangkok concept will serve Classic, Crispy and Heritage versions. For a shared dish, try the crispy noodles alongside your individual bowls and plates.

The other Bangkok arrival, Khun Chui Kaprow, specialises in holy basil stir-fries and counts Chef Ton among its fans. Its cooked-to-order dishes include minced pork kaprow with rice and a fried egg, crispy pork kaprow and beef kaprow.

Nine Original Food Concepts Developed Under Chef Ton

Beyond the two Bangkok names, nine original concepts span breakfast to dessert. Thai curry and rice at Mor Khao Mor Gaeng draws on Chef Ton’s family cooking, with green curry, red duck curry and Massaman curry alongside braises.

With doors opening at 7.30am, the food street also caters to breakfast. Thai congee (jok) at Jok Thong comes with handmade pork balls based on Chef Ton’s recipe, while Khao Chao serves Thai-style coffee and toast.

For noodles, choose from Thai beef noodles at Siam Beef Co., rolled rice noodles in peppery broth (guay jub) at Talad Guay Jub, and handmade Thai-style fishballs with noodles at Heng Dee Fishball. Thai stir-fried rice noodles (pad Thai) at Phad Thai Arai complete the selection.

For sharing, there is garlicky Thai fried chicken at BKK Fried Chicken. Afterwards, finish with Thai market sweets at Mae Ka-Nom.

Chang Espresso & Cold Brew Beers on Tap

In-house bar Nam Jai will serve coffee-infused Chang Espresso on draft, alongside Chang Cold Brew lager and Chang Classic. Despite its name, Chang Cold Brew refers to the brewing process and does not contain coffee.

According to the opening announcement, Soi Stories will exclusively introduce Chang Espresso and Chang Cold Brew on draft in Singapore. The bar will feature a six-tap Chang system, with Thai beverages and modern tea-based drinks available too.
