If you visit Kallang Wave Mall now, you’ll notice something is off. H&M has vacated, the rooftop waterpark is closed, and FairPrice Xtra has also announced plans to leave. This is because Kallang Wave Mall will be undergoing a major transformation starting in May 2026, with the full revamp expected to be completed by 2028.
The works will be carried out in phases, and while most of the mall will remain open, some stores may temporarily close, relocate, or reopen at a later date.
By then, this entire mall will become a full-on sports, wellness, and lifestyle playground.
Here’s everything you need to know — what’s coming, what’s changing, and what’s already happening right now.

A 21-metre climbing wall
The mall’s iconic climbing wall is getting a serious upgrade — from 16 metres to a massive 21 metres, which is approximately 7 storeys tall.
It will be one of the tallest indoor climbing walls in the region, and climbers at the top will even get views of the Kallang Basin. There will also be bouldering walls added, making it accessible for both beginners and experienced climbers.

Rooftop padel courts
Not to be confused with pickleball, padel is one of the fastest-growing sports globally, and Kallang is jumping on the trend with six sheltered rooftop courts.
Expect a mix of casual play and competitive matches, making this a new social hotspot for sporty crowds.
Wellness hub with gym, ice baths and recovery spaces
A major highlight of the revamp is a new wellness concept by ReFormd Group.
This space will include:
- A full gym and personal training facilities
- Ice baths and cold plunges
- Recovery-focused wellness zones
The goal is to transform the mall into more than just a shopping destination, positioning it as a hub for fitness and recovery. It remains unclear whether existing tenants like Yunomori Onsen and Anytime Fitness will continue operating as part of the new concept.

New dining and lifestyle experiences
Expect more:
- Cafes and casual dining spots
- Family-friendly restaurants
- Bistro-pub concepts
- Refreshed waterfront dining areas
So yes, your quick visit could easily turn into a full day out.
Outside and surrounding the mall
The existing water playground will be replaced with a larger multi-sensory playscape, featuring both wet and dry play areas.
This is designed to be more interactive and engaging for families and children.
A new pet hub is being introduced, offering:
- A pet pool
- Grooming services
- Boarding and training
- Retail and even a bakery
It’s essentially a one-stop lifestyle space for pet owners and their furry companions.
The bigger picture
This revamp is part of a larger plan to transform the area into an experiential sport and lifestyle destination, with new community spaces, refreshed façades, upgraded waterfront dining areas, and improved connectivity across the precinct. The mall will also feature more experiential retail concepts designed to bring together sports, lifestyle, dining and community experiences in one integrated space.
By 2028, it won’t just be a place you visit before a concert — it’ll be somewhere you go to:
- Work out
- Hang out
- Recover
- Eat
- Spend an entire day
