21 on Rajah introduces Vietnamese buffet featuring tamarind crab from S$30

Written by Kelly Khor

21 on Rajah is taking diners beyond the usual phở and bánh mì with Phởmidable Hanoi, a limited-time Vietnamese buffet featuring tamarind crab, duck curry and turmeric-grilled fish. Created in collaboration with Chef Nguyen Van Huong, Sous Chef at JW Marriott Hotel Hanoi, the spread offers more than 40 Vietnamese dishes on rotation. It runs until 13 November 2026, with lunch costing an effective S$30++ per person when four adults dine together.

Tamarind crab leads a spread of regional Vietnamese dishes

One of the buffet’s highlights is Vietnamese tamarind crab (cua rang me), coated in a glossy sauce that balances sweet, tangy and savoury flavours. Depending on the rotation, diners may also find Vietnamese salt-and-pepper crab (cua rang muối tiêu).

Other regional and homestyle dishes include Vietnamese duck curry (cà ri vịt), stir-fried beef cubes (bò lúc lắc) and Hanoi-style grilled fish with turmeric and dill (chả cá Lã Vọng). Meanwhile, the cold seafood counter includes prawns, yabbies, mussels and clams. Dinner and weekend brunch add snow crab legs, while Friday and Saturday dinners also feature Boston lobster.

Build your own bánh mì at the DIY station

At the DIY bánh mì station, diners can customise their baguettes with chicken cold cuts, floss, shredded egg, pickled carrot, chilli and coriander.

The live noodle station rotates between beef phở, chicken phở and Vietnamese fish noodle soup (bún cá), alongside Singapore laksa. As selections vary, diners seeking a particular dish should check with the restaurant before visiting.

Finish with a bowl of DIY Vietnamese Sweet Soup

Desserts include Vietnamese crème caramel (bánh flan), banana cake and rotating varieties of sweet soup (chè). Diners can also build their own chè Thái with fruit, jellies, coconut milk and shaved ice, while dinner and weekend brunch add durian pengat.

Four diners can have lunch from S$30++ each

The buffet becomes considerably more affordable for groups of four. During lunch, four adults pay for only two. As a result, weekday lunch costs an effective S$30++ per person, while weekend brunch costs S$35++ per person.
