Galaxy Note10 and 10+ Price, Highlights and Specs

The anticipated Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2019 event happened yesterday (this morning in Singapore) in New York with Samsung unveiling its flagship Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ during its unpack event.

This is also the first time Samsung has released two different Note models, and there’s more than just screen size differentiating the two.

Size Matters

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 offers a 6.3″ dynamic AMOLED screen while Note 10+ is slightly bigger at 6.8″. For comparison sake, Note 9 has a 6.4″ super AMOLED display screen.

For storage space, like Note 9, Note 10+ comes with microSD card slot and can store 256GB with option to expand up to 1TB. Note 10 however do not have the microSD card slot and has a fixed capacity of 256GB.

Speed Matters

Both Note 10 and Note 10+ comes with an upgraded Qualcomm Snapdragon 855. Note 10+ has 12GB RAM while Note 10 has 8GB. For comparison, Note 9 has dual channel RAM of 6GB and 8GB.

Colors Matters

The Galaxy Note 10 will be available in two colours – Aura Glow and Aura Black. The Galaxy Note 10+ models will come in the same colours, as well as Aura White.

Improved Camera

Note 10 and Note 10+ has the same specifications for selfie camera at 10MP. However, the Note 10+ has 3 cameras, while Note 10 has 2 cameras on the rear.

The 2 rear cameras on both Note10+ and Note 10 are the 12MP wide-angle shooter with variable aperture that automatically switches between f/1.4 and f/2.4 to capture images in tough lighting conditions, a 16MP ultra-wide with a 123° field of view and a 12MP telephoto camera.

The Note 10+ comes with additional DepthVision Camera.

For the first time, Note 10+ also allows users to bokeh the background in video mode.

Battery Life

The Note 10+ has a battery capacity of 4,300mAh, which is an upgrade from Note 9, which only has 4,000mAh. The Note 10 however only has 3500mAh of battery life.

Just for fun: Samsung Note 7 (The phone that exploded) has 3,500mAh.

Improved S Pen

Samsung has added six-axis sensors into the S Pen to bring new gestures. For example, flicking the stylus left and right in the Gallery app (like a  wizard at Hogwarts) allows you move from one photo to the other.

These movements, also known as the Air Gestures is open to third-party developers. Hence, some interesting applications might appear in the app store in months to come.

First look at USS Halloween Horror Nights 9 five brand new haunted houses

The 9th installation of Universal Studios Singapore (USS) Halloween Horror Night will be back next month and this year’s event features 5 haunted houses, 2 scare zones and 2 shows over a span of 16 nights.

Here are the 5 haunted houses and who what to expect in them:

1. Curse of the Naga

Let’s admit it. Thailand has produced some of the scariest horror films to date. This haunted house, Curse of the Naga transports guests into the deep jungles of Thailand.

Therein lies a lost village that is under the spell of a snake spirit, Naga.

This original haunted house is a creation from the directors of blockbuster Thai horror films, Shutter and 4bia. This is also the first time USS has collaborated with these regional masters of horror.

2. Twisted Clown University

This haunted house is an abandoned carnival ground with remorseless clowns roaming the vicinity, awaiting for the next victim to terrorize.

3. The Chalet Hauntings

In this haunted chalet, you play detective by trying to uncover the truth of five teenagers who has mysteriously disappeared from this chalet.

Going through the layers of police tapes that were used to cordon the apartment, be prepared to have a close brush with langsuir and other frightful beings.

4. Hell Block 9

This haunted house brings you to a dark, dirty and damp prison. Witness vengeance and agony as merciless wardens torture the inmates.

Torment by death, disease and devastation, this is one of the most savage place to be in.

Spirit Dolls

Probably inspired by a remote village in Japan, this haunted house features an abandoned village filled with creepy, life-sized dolls.

But if you look closer, the eyes of these dolls follow you as you roam around.
