There are some places in Singapore that feel less like attractions and more like childhood memories.
For many Singaporeans, Snow City was one of them.
The moment you stepped inside, your glasses fogged up instantly. Someone in your school group would scream because they touched “real snow” for the first time. You would zip down the icy slide in oversized winter boots while pretending you were overseas even though Jurong East MRT was literally nearby.
And now, after 26 years, that chapter is coming to an end.
Singapore’s first indoor snow centre, Snow City, will officially close on 30 September 2026.
One Of Singapore’s Most Uniquely Singaporean Attractions
Launched in 2000, Snow City became a core memory for generations of Singaporeans through school trips, family outings and birthday celebrations.
For kids growing up in the 2000s, this was probably the only place where you could wear gloves, winter boots and a giant jacket without boarding a plane.
“One Last Snowfall” Will Run Until September
To mark its final chapter, Snow City will launch a farewell campaign called “One Last Snowfall” from June to September 2026.
What’s included: 1 hour of snow play and 1 bumper car ride.
The special farewell promotion offers around 30% savings off regular ticket prices.
Honestly, this feels like one of those “go before it disappears forever” moments.

Another Singapore Icon Quietly Disappears
Over the past few years, Singaporeans have watched more nostalgic spaces slowly disappear.
Just 2 months ago, Golden Village Tiong Bahru shut down after 32 years. In just a few days, Mind Cafe will also be closing its flagship outlet after 21 years.
It feels like more and more pieces of old Singapore are quietly disappearing.
Maybe the only constant in life really is change.
