There’s a new reason to visit Fort Canning Park this Christmas. A Christmas Story by World Christmas Market brings an 11.6-metre real Christmas tree, a 42-piece orchestra and a free-entry festive market to the grounds of METT Hotel Singapore and the park’s surroundings from 10 December 2026 to 3 January 2027. Expect festive food, gifts, hands-on workshops and pet-friendly spaces for a year-end outing with friends, family and your furry companion.
An 11.6-metre real Christmas tree takes centre stage
The centrepiece at The Piazza is a real Christmas tree standing approximately 11.6 metres tall. Decorated trees will also appear throughout the grounds, alongside giant nutcrackers and illuminated reindeer. The setting adds another layer to the festive display, with the celebrations taking place around METT Hotel’s historic building as it marks its 100th anniversary.
If you want to catch the first switch-on, opening night on Thursday, 10 December begins at 5pm, with the tree-lighting and opening ceremony scheduled for 7.30pm.
The team behind Togetherland heads to Fort Canning
If World Christmas Market sounds familiar, its first edition took place at The Promontory at Marina Bay in 2024. The event returned as Togetherland at Bayfront Event Space in 2025. This year’s chapter brings the festivities into Fort Canning’s greenery.
The experience is organised around three spaces. The Story Terrace focuses on festive shopping, gifts and hands-on workshops. It will also host The Long Table, a shared dining experience where friends and strangers can gather for a meal.
The Piazza houses the towering tree, while The Merry Grounds is the food and festive market, with seasonal dishes and drinks. It gives your outing a straightforward route from gift browsing to tree photos to something to eat.
Opening weekend comes with a 42-piece orchestra
A 42-piece full orchestra is scheduled to perform over opening weekend, adding a substantial soundtrack to the Christmas lights. Brass sextets and saxophone quartets will appear on other scheduled dates, with choirs and additional musical performances across the season.

Admission is free, with pet-friendly spaces subject to venue guidelines. The vendor line-up has yet to be announced, so food recommendations will have to wait.
