Japan’s Leading Fresh Home Cooked Meal Subscription Service, Tsuklio, Has Officially Opened in Singapore

Written by Dania Rae

Singapore’s busy food scene just welcomed a new player. Tsuklio, Japan’s leading fresh home cooked meal subscription service, has officially launched here, marking its first expansion into Southeast Asia.

On paper, it sounds like the perfect solution for modern living. But once you look closer, the value proposition becomes a bit more nuanced.

Healthy and Delicious

These freshly prepared Japanese home style meals are delivered weekly, designed by dietitians, and never frozen. It is clearly targeted at time starved professionals and families who are tired of overpriced food delivery or repetitive meal prep.

What keeps things interesting is the rotating menu of over 100 recipes, featuring a mix of Japanese, Chinese and Western flavours. This blend makes it especially appealing to Singaporeans who are used to diverse tastes in their everyday meals.

Still, “healthy and delicious” is not exactly a unique claim in Singapore. From tingkat services to meal prep brands, many already promise the same. Tsuklio’s appeal leans more towards its Japanese positioning and consistency rather than something entirely new.

Meal Price Plans

Plan Type Details Price
Weekly Household Plan 3 meals per week, 4 servings per meal (feeds 3 to 4 pax) S$211 per week

This works out to approximately S$17 per serving.

This is where most people will pause. At S$17 per portion, Tsuklio sits in a middle ground that can feel tricky. It is not cheap enough to replace home cooking, but also not indulgent enough to compete with dining out. For many Singaporeans, that positioning may require some convincing.

Any Speciality Food

Tsuklio focuses on Japanese home style comfort food, which includes dishes that are typically lighter, more balanced and less oily compared to standard takeaway options.

  • Dietitian designed for balanced nutrition
  • Freshly prepared daily in a central kitchen
  • Delivered chilled and never frozen
  • Inspired by home cooked recipes rather than restaurant style dishes

The rotating menu means you may see items like grilled fish, simmered meats, vegetable sides and rice based dishes, alongside fusion options influenced by Chinese and Western cuisine.

While this sounds appealing, it also raises expectations. In a food obsessed city like Singapore, “home style” may not always excite those who are used to bold, indulgent flavours.

How Do You Receive Your Food

Meals are delivered in one go on a weekly basis, not per individual meal.

  • 3 different meals for the week
  • 4 servings per meal
  • Total of 12 servings per delivery

You simply store them chilled and reheat when needed.

This model is convenient, but it also requires some planning. Receiving everything at once assumes you have the fridge space and a relatively consistent routine to finish the meals across the week.
