PS.Cafe Reimagines Four Local Favourites For National Day, Including A Whole Lamb Shank On Mac & Cheese

Written by Kelly Khor

A whole lamb shank on mac and cheese. A café style take on Roti John. Even chempedak gets turned into dessert.

For National Day 2026, PS.Cafe is giving four familiar local favourites its signature East meets West treatment. The limited time menu features the Sambal Scotch Egg, Rendang Mac & Cheese, Roti PS. and Chempedak Pudding, with prices starting from S$16.

Diners can enjoy the PS.Cafe National Day menu at all outlets across Singapore from 1 August to 31 October 2026.

Rendang Mac & Cheese Comes With An Entire Lamb Shank

Arguably, the biggest showstopper is the S$36 Rendang Mac & Cheese.

PS.Cafe tops its creamy mac and cheese with a whole braised lamb shank, combining the richness of melted cheese with the warm, aromatic spices of rendang.

On the side, tangy pickles cut through the heavier flavours and keep the dish from becoming too rich. The result is far more substantial than a typical café pasta and easily one of the most eye catching National Day dishes this year.

The Sambal Scotch Egg Packs Several Local Flavours Into One Bite

The S$16 Sambal Scotch Egg gives the traditional British appetiser a distinctly Singaporean spin.

PS.Cafe wraps a soft boiled egg in chicken seasoned with sambal and coconut, coats it in coconut panko and fries it until crisp.

Think of it as a Scotch egg crossed with familiar nasi lemak flavours. Crunchy ikan bilis and toasted cashews add plenty of texture, while spiced tomato chutney and kaffir lime leaf bring sweetness, acidity and fragrance.

Roti PS. Gives The Humble Roti John A Café Makeover

Elsewhere on the menu, PS.Cafe turns one of Singapore’s most underrated hawker favourites into a loaded café sandwich.

Priced at S$26, the Roti PS. combines grain fed beef mince, corned beef, onions and egg inside a toasted soft roll, then adds melted mozzarella and cheddar cheese.

Curry ketchup, pickled chillies and fresh coriander sharpen the flavours, while PS.Cafe’s signature shoestring fries complete the plate.

The dish still has the comforting appeal of Roti John, although the gooey cheese and generous filling push it firmly into indulgent café territory.

Chempedak Becomes A Warm Café Dessert

Chempedak is one of Southeast Asia’s most distinctive and divisive fruits. For diners firmly on Team Chempedak, the S$18 Chempedak Pudding could be the highlight of the meal.

The dessert pairs a warm chempedak sponge pudding with coconut white chocolate, vanilla ice cream and toasted coconut flakes.

The ice cream cools the warm pudding, while the white chocolate and toasted coconut add creaminess and crunch without overpowering the fruit’s naturally rich flavour.

A Different Take On National Day Food

Rather than relying on familiar favourites such as chilli crab, laksa or chicken rice, PS.Cafe has chosen less commonly featured flavours including Roti John and chempedak.

That gives the menu a fresher feel than many seasonal promotions. Instead of recreating local dishes exactly, PS.Cafe borrows their flavours and reshapes them into the rich café comfort food it is known for.

The PS.Cafe National Day menu will be available at all PS.Cafe outlets in Singapore from 1 August to 31 October 2026.
