The Kallang Introduces S$10 Pickleball Programme For Beginners

Written by Kelly Khor

Riding on the growing interest in pickleball, The Kallang Group has introduced the OCBC–Great Eastern Pickleball Series, offering guided sessions for beginners from just S$10.

All sessions take place at the Kallang Hard Courts (near Gate 13 if the National Stadium) within the Singapore Sports Hub.

If you do not mind trying a new sport, this is for you. Equipment is provided, so there is no need to commit to buying anything before stepping onto the court.

Three Different Learning Groups Available

Participants can sign up under three categories: youth, adults, and multi generation groups. Each session lasts approximately two hours, with participants learning and playing in a guided group setting alongside others.

The series will run across April, May, August and September, giving multiple entry points throughout the year.

The multi generation format requires a team of three — one youth, one adult, and one senior aged 60 and above — positioning the programme as both a sport and a shared activity across age groups.

Why pickleball and why now

Pickleball’s rise is not accidental.

It sits at the intersection of accessibility and social play: easy to learn, low impact, and fast paced enough to stay engaging. Unlike many traditional sports, it does not require long term commitment or steep learning curves before becoming enjoyable.

More importantly, it is inherently social, played in close quarters with quick rallies and constant interaction.
