Everything you can expect at SAM’s NEW exhibition at Tanjong Pagar Distripark

Singapore Art Week was an enjoyable event for many of us as we learn to appreciate art and discover new perspectives.

If you can’t get enough of it, check out SAM at Tanjong Pagar Distripark which just opened on 14 Jan 2022!

It consists of 3 galleries in total, so here’s everything you can expect:

Gallery 1: Refuse

Amongst all the galleries, REFUSE was our favourite! It is about music, mushrooms and de-composition.

Discover more about the time-based installation space and archive as well as their important place in the Singapore music scene. There are even Instagram-worthy spots around too!

Gallery 2: A Machine Boosting Energy Into the Universe

At gallery 2, you can sit back and enjoy a short film titled “Painting with history in a room filled with people with funny names.” The film explores the unity of human, machine and spirit. You can even see realistic looking cyborg figures made from used materials.

Gallery 3: Gan Siong King, My Video Making Practice

Here is another  film that you can enjoy!  This humorous reflection on Gan’s video practice is told through the form of the video essay itself. You can even stand a chance to meet Gan himself for a dialogue session.

Flirting Point

If you are feeling a little cheeky, this new exhibition even has a flirting point!

The flirting point returns at SAM Tanjong Pagar Distripark, in collaboration with ZoukOut. Despite the pandemic now, it shouldn’t stop us from interactions as long as we practice safe distancing measures!

Don’t miss out this exhibition if you are looking for somewhere to go over the weekends. Admission is FREE for all, till 14 February 2022.
