Finding affordable food in Singapore is challenging– especially when the cost of living is high in general. Moreover, I am sure a part of our pay check goes to Christmas shopping this month!

If you are looking for more affordable food options in shopping malls, you might want to read on!

At Hong Kong Zhai Dim Sum, you can get affordable dim sum from $1.20 nett. Apart from dim sum, there are other wide selection of items you can choose from– like desserts, mains and drinks.

All prices you see are nett prices, which means you do not have to pay additional GST and service charge. It is quite rare for an eatery in a shopping mall to offset these charges!

Dim Sum are one of the best foods to be shared with your loved ones– sharing means you can reduce the overall cost individually too!

Apart from Marina Square, they have two other outlets at Bedok and Ang Mo Kio if you live further away.

Introducing the Christmas Box ($23), which comprises of bakes with an added hint of familiar Christmas flavours like Peppermint and Cinnamon.

The Christmas Box comprises of:

  • 2 peppermint dark chocolate macarons

Some of the bakes that stood out to us were the stuffed s’mores chunkies and Peppermint macaroons. Those were not too sweet and the cinnamon taste in the chunkies elevates the flavours. With the marshmallows, it adds chewiness and softness to each bite.

Jinglebakesco first started out in February this year. The founder is currently a student pursuing her passion in baking during her gap year.

Although it is challenging to juggle between baking and administrative matters solo, she proved that it is possible so long as you have the determination!
