Missing Artbox? Here’s Eatbox 2021 and best highlights you can enjoy there

Before Covid, I love going to Artbox not just because of the bazaars but also for the food! It is also Instagram-worthy and makes a great spot to take pictures.

Artbox in 2019

If you are someone who misses Artbox, good news for you! Eatbox returns with a permanent space and is the first creative food hall in Singapore.

The first look of Eatbox

Even the sign makes me so nostalgic and happy as it reminds me of the Artbox sign. We can’t wait to check it out!

There are two levels in Eatbox and the space is not as crowded as Artbox. You can take your time to find a good seat!

Highlights of Eatbox

Instagram-worthy lights installations

The first thing to do before we dig in is to take some pictures for memories (and Instagram of course)!

There’s a couple of pretty light installations to capture some good photos. Now, we’re ready to explore the food!

Mains

Tha Chang Shaker Bar

This stall captured our attention from its unique food presentation– noodles in a cup! There’s a variety of noodles, premiums, sides and you can end it off with your desired flavour.

We chose the combination of Emerald noodles, salmon, beef loin, onsen egg and the traditional boat noodle flavour.

Now comes the fun part when you can shake the noodles!

The noodles have a chewy texture and the ingredients go pretty well together. However, it tasted a little salty especially at the base of the cup.

Be sure to mix it well before you enjoy it!

Soul Good Noodle Bar

Our noodle adventure doesn’t stop there as we decided to try the noodles from Soul Good Noodle Bar.

They have a range of Korean noodles and sides including Chicken Wing and Kimchi Cheese Fries.

However, we decided to go with something more fun and interesting of DIY-ing our own noodles!

We chose the combination of sweet potato noodles, jjajang base, chicken katsu, kimchi, nori strips and spring onions.

The presentation of the food looks appetising and the egg is still runny.

The chicken katsu was crispy and delicious. However, the sweet potato noodles were quite thick and hard to chew. The sauce was slightly too sweet as well.

Okinawa Onigiri

Our next stop– Okinawa! We love eating sushi and decided to get their onigiri to try.

Apart from Onigiri, they also have rice bowls that look scrumptious as well!

We decided to get the grilled Mentaiko onigiri which comes with luncheon meat.

The luncheon meat is crispy on the outside and it compliments the sushi very well. The sauce is slightly sweet but overall it is still delicious!

Desserts

Sugarush

There’s always room for dessert right? We decided to check out Sugarush as it has a variety of ice cream and pastries.

The cakes definitely caught our attention!

We tried the Canadian Maple Leaf Ice Cream. It reminds me of Honey maple pancakes syrup and it is not too sweet! I would highly recommend this.

We got the Lemon Matcha Castella and Flourless Orange Almond Cake.

The orange cake is fragrant and a little crunchy on the inside. The matcha cake is not so sweet and tastes just nice. We would highly recommend these too.

Ice On You

Ice On You has a variety of Thai desserts, including ice shavers! We wanted to try their ice shavers but it was not available at that timing.

Hence, we got the Mango Sticky Rice instead.

The Mango Sticky Rice is a classic Thai dessert. The mangoes are sweet and delicious.

They topped off the rice with some cereal which gives it a nice texture.

Drinks

Wai

For our drinks, we decided to go for something light and refreshing. We found the cheng tng drink with grass jelly pretty interesting!

When it comes to cheng tng, we never imagined that it can come in a drink too! When we tried it, it was surprisingly good and refreshing!

We will definitely come back for more next time.

Flash Coffee

I’ve been seeing Flash Coffee around lately and decided to try it out! After all, the vibrant signboard colours definitely caught my eyes.

I got the iced milk tea from there. If you are looking for a simple and refreshing drink, be sure to check out Flash Coffee!

More coming your way…

The fun doesn’t end here yet… Stay tuned on 24 September for the opening of the Instant Noodle Museum just next to Eatbox!
