Eta Aquarid Meteor Shower
The Eta Aquarids meteor shower will rain past Singapore skies on 6 May and 7 May 2020. According to experts, the meteor shower is expected to rain up to 60 meteors every hour.
The next time this astrology phenomenon will be visible from Earth is in 41 years time, in Year 2061.
How to see the Meteor Shower?
- Find a spot away from the city light and allow your eyes 15 to 20 minutes to get used to the dark.
- Use apps like Night Sky and NASA to detect constellation (Eta Aquarids will be coming from the direction of the Aquarius constellation)
Super Flower Moon
Untrue to the name, we are not going to see any flowers or flower-shaped moon. The super flower moon is merely a super moon that shines at night whilst the flowers (in season) are blossoming.
The Super Flower Moon will be unveiling itself in Singapore skies on 7 May 2020 at 8.05PM. This is when the moon is closest to the earth in its orbit, making it look larger and brighter.
