Heavy thunderstorm and rain expected islandwide for the final week of June 2020

According to the Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS), the current wet weather is expected to continue in the final week of June 2020.

During this period, thundery showers are expected between late morning and early afternoon, and extending into the late afternoon on a few days.

Thundery showers are also expected on a few nights.

The daily temperature on most days is forecast to range between 25°C and 33°C.

Wear the Burger King Social Distancing Crown to enjoy 1-for-1 discounts and more

To encourage social distancing, Burger King Singapore has creatively introduced its social distancing crown. The radius of the oversized headgear is 30cm and when two people wear it, they are one meter apart from each other at all times.

Burger King lovers will be able to get their hands on the coveted crown in stores from 24 June 2020. A DIY version will also be available for fans to download and create from 22 June 2020.

As a reward for keeping the distance, those who wear the social distancing crowns at any Burger King restaurant between 25 June 2020 to 4 July 2020, from 11am onwards, will be eligible for a 1-for-1 WHOPPER deal.

NPark Singapore to give 2 free packets of seeds to all households, registration ends 30 June 2020

As Singapore aims to improve food resilience, the National Parks Board (NParks) will be giving out seed packs to households that register for them.

Inside each seed pack, there will be two packets of seeds and accompanying instruction in four languages.

The two packets of seeds will contain one type of leafy greens and one type of fruited vegetable.

The leafy options are Chinese Flowering Cabbage (Cai Xin), Chinese Kale (Kai Lan), Chinese Spinach (Bayam), Kangkong and Xiao Bai Cai.

The fruited vegetables include Brinjal, Cucumber, Lady’s Finger, Long Bean and Tomato.

These seeds take only four to eight weeks to grow and are  commonly used in local cuisines and are given at random.
