The organizers for the annual Chinese New Year Bazaar at Chinatown has decided to cancel the event next year due to concerns over safe-distancing.
According to some of the shop owners interviewed, most have no intention to take their business online.
The bazaar was usually held for three weeks, leading to Chinese New Year around Pagoda, Smith, Temple and Trengganu streets. During Chinese New year this year in January, 329 stalls took part in the bazaar.
This is the first time since 1989, the popular bazaar is cancelled.
