The Singapore Wushu Dragon and Lion Dance Federation has announced stricter measures to cope with the spread of Covid-19.
This includes a cap in the number of performers at eight. Hence, dragon dance will not be permitted as they usually require more performers.
In addition, all performers must wear mask, except for those controlling the head and tail of the lion.
Performances adhering to social distancing rules can continue in offices, factories, hotels, temples and shops in mega shopping centres. However, performances are not allowed at residences, food centers and markets.
According to the Federation, this ban is to prevent crowds from congregating in public space.
Troupes interested to perform this year has to complete more paperwork. This includes submitting daily schedules to the police through the Federation. However, the cai qing permit for 16 days now costs only S$50, down from S$150 last year (exclusive of GST).
