Chinatown calls off Chinese New Year bazaar next year due to Covid-19

The organizers for the annual Chinese New Year Bazaar at Chinatown has decided to cancel the event next year due to concerns over safe-distancing.

According to some of the shop owners interviewed, most have no intention to take their business online.

The bazaar was usually held for three weeks, leading to Chinese New Year  around Pagoda, Smith, Temple and Trengganu streets. During Chinese New year this year in January, 329 stalls took part in the bazaar.

This is the first time since 1989, the popular bazaar is cancelled.

ION Orchard lets you meet-and-pet miniature horses for S$25 with free drink this Christmas

A retail outlet at ION Orchard, In Good Company, has collaborated with a non-profit organization, Equal, to offer a meet-and-pet miniature horse session this Christmas.

Each session costs S$50 and includes entry and complimentary beverages from Plain Vanilla Bakery for two people.

There are six miniature horses who will be meeting the guests on a rotational basis. Hence, there will only be two miniature horses available for the meet-and-pet session at each time.

Entry is strictly by pre-event bookings and limited within each hour.

In Good Company will match S$50 to every ticket sold. In addition, 100% of the donation proceeds will go to Equal, in support of their efforts and the 1,500 beneficiaries that they serve yearly.

Weather forecast predicts rain almost every day, with temperature dipping to 24°C temperature on some days for the remainder of November 2020

According to several weather reports, Singapore is predicted to see showers on almost all days for the remaining half of November 2020.

The moderate to heavy thundery showers is expected to happen during the afternoons. On some days, this could drag into the evening.

BTS to launch pop-up store at Plaza Singapura from 14 November 2020

Korean boy band BTS is launching a pop-up store at Plaza Singapura from 14 November 2020 to 14 February 2021.

Titled “Map of the soul”, the Singapore pop-up store features over 300 BTS merchandise. In addition, the store will also see the recreation of various scenes from the boyband’s Music Video.

Besides a wide range of apparels, the pop-up store which occupies 2 units in Plaza Singapura could also feature desserts like the pop-ups in other countries.

Due to Covid-19 safety measures, customers will have to pre-register for these sessions. Pre-registration starts tomorrow on 6 Nov 2020.
