National Museum of Singapore launches Doraemon exhibition, four main activities includes online trail

The National Museum of Singapore has recently launched the Doraemon’s Time-Travelling Adventures exhibition to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the much-loved manga character.

Here are the four main activities:

14 Doraemon Statues at the Museum

Visitors can take photos with giant-sized Doraemon statues. There are 14 statues situated at the lawn, including one by the museum sign and another with the Anywhere Door.

Gadgets of the Future Exhibition

Fans familiar with the series knows Doraemon often brings out gadgets in the show to help Nobi.

The Doraemon’s Gadgets of the Future features popular items previously introduced in the show. Some of these items includes the Translation Gummy and Shrink Ray.

Virtual Time-Travelling Journey with Doraemon

Perhaps due to Covid-19, the National Museum of Singapore is also offering a virtual time-travelling tour around Singapore.

Besides discovering fun facts about the different neighborhoods, visitors also stand a chance to win the full range of NMS Doraemon Singapore-themed collectibles designed by Supermama.

To take part, simply take part in the tour and identify the correct answers in at least 7 questions to stand a chance to win.

This activity allows kids to unleash their creativity by designing their own gadget based on the real artifacts displayed at the Museum.

Zouk Club movie screening premiers today with Halloween themed movies

Zouk Cinema Club is premiering its first movie session today (30 October 2020).

In line with Halloween, movies like The Sixth Sense (1999) and The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) will be shown this week.

According to Zouk Club, the Zouk Cinema Club is a new pop-up cinematic experience that transforms the complex’s main dance floor to a movie screening room.

This is how the redecorated club looks like now:

Unlike other cinema, the Zouk Cinema Club “welcomes guests to express themselves and have fun while practicing social distancing during screening.”

The movie screening takes place four days a week (Wednesday – Saturday), 6pm to 10.30pm. Each night will see one screening. Only those above 18 will be admitted.

However, they are only accepting table bookings.

JJ Lin to hold livestream concert for new album on 30 Oct 2020, 8pm

Mandopop singer JJ Lin has announced he will be holding a livestream concert tomorrow (30 October 2020) at 8pm.

According to the local singer, he will be performing songs from his latest album live for the first time.

It is interesting to note that JJ’s 14th album consist of two parts.

The first part titled “倖存者Drifter”, has six songs. They are 最向往的地方, 交换余生, title track 倖存者, 离开的那一些, 最好是 and 暂时的记号.

According to Spotify, the remaining half “Like You Do 如你” is expected to have eight songs and is scheduled to debut on 22 January 2021. So far, only the title track “While I can” is available.

Golden Village converts its Suntec City Gold Class Lounge into workspace, S$15 for 6 hours

Golden Village Singapore has announced it has converted its Suntec City Gold Class lounge into a work-space.

Dubbed at Z.E.S.T @ Gold Class, the management hopes the work-space lounge will be a place of Zen, Entertainment, Space and Taste for the patrons.

This first-of-a-kind lounge concept workspace is available every weekday from 12PM to 6PM at S$25. As part of an introductory package, the admission pass is currently retailing at only S$15.

In addition, patrons will also be given free popcorn, a complimentary cup of tea or coffee, as well as movie discount vouchers.

To enjoy Golden Village’s signature Zen Zone program, which allows patrons to enjoy a power nap between 12pm to 1.30pm or 2pm to 3.30pm, patrons with the work from lounge pass simply has to top up S$5 for this add-on.

Singapore to expect dry and hot weather for last two weeks of October 2020

According to several meteorological forecasts, the weather in Singapore for the next two weeks is expected to be warm and dry.

The average temperature range is between 25°C to 35°C.

Taking into account the humidity, weather forecast website, timeanddate.com, predicts some days to feel like 39°C.

However, there is still a silver lining behind the hot weather.

Based on forecast from the Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS), passing showers can be expected on some days:

“Localised short-duration moderate to heavy thundery showers can still be expected on some days over parts of the island between the late morning and afternoon.”

iPhone 12 & 12 Pro available for pre-order in Singapore tomorrow, 16 October 2020

Apple has unveiled a series of iPhone 12 models on Wednesday (14 October 2020). Pre-orders will start in Singapore tomorrow (16 October 2020).

The iPhone 12 variations are: iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max.

In general, all the iPhone 12 phones are powered by the fastest A14 Bionic chip, featuring an expansive edge-to-edge Super Retina XDR display.

The new iPhone models comes with a ceramic shield front and aerospace-grade aluminium. This makes the phone more durable to drops compared to its predecessors.

In addition, the iPhone 12 models also comes with MagSafe. This is a new function that offers high-powered wireless charging.

NPark closes the MacRitchie TreeTop Walk, Peirce Track and part of Petaling Boardwalk for maintenance, until May 2021

NPark announced it has closed the TreeTop Walk, Peirce Track, and part of Petaling Boardwalk for maintenance works.

The maintenance work is expected to be completed by 31 May 2021.
