Marina Central District Launches Body, Heart & Soul, with immersive activities and IG-worthy opportunities

Body, Heart & Soul is an initiative that illustrates the convergence of art, technology and human consciousness. It will take place in Marina Central District across the next few months of 2022.

In case you didn’t know, Marina Central District consists of four stakeholders– Marina Square, Millenia Walk, South Beach and Suntec City.

First stop: Body at Play

The first stop of this art installation is at the central atrium of Marina Square. From 26 March till 12 May, head over to Marina Square Central Atrium to experience the fun and see how the interactive cubes respond to your playful poses and gestures.

This is time to test your flexibility and see if the motion sensor can capture your moves!

Subsequently, Body, Heart & Soul will be transformed and transported to the next few malls. Each mall’s installation has a different look and feel. However, one common thing is the idea of sustainability as the installations will be upcycled!

The installation is also Instagram-worthy if you are looking for your next photo spot. I wore the Odelle Crop Top and the Felisa Cami Strap Metal Ring Tie Romper from Pur Pur Singapore!

Use my code <PPXARICIA> from now till 15 April to get 5% off storewide, excluding sale items!

I WAN Selfie Studio: $30 photo studio with new themes, costumes and even a matchmaking room to find true love

I WAN Selfie Studio is a photo booth with 11 different themed rooms and backgrounds for you to choose from– all at an affordable price!

But what you may not know is that there is even an interactive zone that most photo booths don’t offer. You can even find your potential match there instead of using dating apps. Read on to find out more!

I WAN Selfie Studio Review

We were excited about our photoshoot as there were plenty of outfits to choose from with free hair and makeup services. There are new costumes that compliment the new themes– the latest being the Lolita theme.

Moving on to the highlights– our favourite photo spots in the studio!

Japanese and Chinese Room

Amongst all the rooms, one of our favourites would be the Japanese room where you can time travel back to those days when hanfus and yukatas were a trend!

Alice in Wonderland

One of the main highlights there is the Alice in Wonderland themed room, where it is highly recommended to wear a beautiful gown and pose under the gorgeous lights.

Classroom

Grab a buddy and some props and pose for some classroom shots! This is the most nostalgic set as we remembered our fond school days.

Reflective lightroom

The dazzling reflective room stood out to us as well! This feels like a trendy disco set up where you can dress up in reflective dresses to look extra gorgeous.

Barbie theme room

Ever wondered how it feels to be a Barbie girl in a Barbie world? At I WAN Selfie Studio, you can lead the dream life of a Barbie girl!

Apart from just photo spots, they have something unique too– a matchmaking room and Museum of Breakups.

Tuo Dan room

In Chinese, Tuo Dan also means “getting out of the single life and being together with the right partner.” True love doesn’t come easy, but never give up on love!

Pen down your ideal types and contact details and drop them into a bottle! The pink bottles are for females and the blue bottles are for males.

That’s not all because the bottles are also arranged accordingly to your horoscope sign. For those who are looking for matching horoscopes, this place is for you!

Museum of Breakup

Breaking up is a part and parcel of life, what’s important is that we take valuable lessons away from the relationship and grow from it.

Wall of breakups

Pen down your messages for your past lovers– good or bad ones, it doesn’t matter.

Price

All these incredible props, costumes and themes is available for just $29.90 per person for an hour session. For weekends, it will be $35.90 per hour.

I Wan Selfie Studio is revamped with new themes once every few months. If you have previously visited before, you may be missing out on new stuff!

GR.ID is now open to public, with good food and fun activities including Live Action Role Playing

We have seen countless shopping malls in Singapore and it’s almost impossible to visit every one of them. However, if there is ONE mall you should check out, it has to be GR.ID.

GR.ID is the first-of-its-kind shopping mall focusing on food, fitness and fun activities. The concept of the mall is youth-centric and focuses on socialising and having fun. Plus, you won’t be able to find stores you find at the mall typically.

Here are some of the MUST VISIT spots to check out!

IG worthy neon photo spots
GR.ID entrance

Beautiful photo spots are all around GR.ID! Be sure to snap some photos for memories!

MADD Space

My outfit of the day is from Pur Pur Singapore! I wore the Yve Utility V Neck Top and shorts set and I love how effortless and versatile it is.

Use my code <PPXARICIA> for 5% off storewide, excluding promotional items!

Toilet

You can’t miss out on these Instagram-worthy light exhibitions in the mall! Even the toilet looks very cool and unique too.

Chops!

Shoutout to one of the places with the BEST chicken chops we have eaten!

The mash potato is light and flavourful and the grilled chicken is tender and perfectly seasoned. The cherry tomatoes are sweet and it is absolutely something you must try out!

Ice Bar

If you are looking for a refreshing and delicious pit-stop, check out Ice Bar! This is their second outlet and the first one is at Hougang.

They offer many unique flavours but that’s not all! There are Instagram-worthy displays that you can capture pretty good shots too.

Loading

Live-Action Role-Playing (LARP) is an increasingly popular activity around the world. Loading is the first-ever spot where you can experience a LARP escape room. You will be dressed as different characters and you will have different roles to play!

Gather your friends for a fun-filled adventure like no other!

Smile Dessert

If you have previously visited the pink version of Smile Dessert, here’s the blue version! Similar to the Bugis outlet, it has plentiful Instagram-worthy spots including the popular KAWS statue.

What’s better is that this opens till 12 am as well!

MADD

MADD Studio is a spot where all aspiring dancers, singers and musicians unite! Their classes instil self-confidence, discipline and mutual respect– which are important values for youths!

As the mall is relatively new, most of the shops are already in operation. There are a few shops that are currently still preparing, but they will be ready in no time!

GR.ID is a great place to hang out after school and relax with your friends.

Everything you can expect at SAM’s NEW exhibition at Tanjong Pagar Distripark

Singapore Art Week was an enjoyable event for many of us as we learn to appreciate art and discover new perspectives.

If you can’t get enough of it, check out SAM at Tanjong Pagar Distripark which just opened on 14 Jan 2022!

It consists of 3 galleries in total, so here’s everything you can expect:

Gallery 1: Refuse

Amongst all the galleries, REFUSE was our favourite! It is about music, mushrooms and de-composition.

Discover more about the time-based installation space and archive as well as their important place in the Singapore music scene. There are even Instagram-worthy spots around too!

Gallery 2: A Machine Boosting Energy Into the Universe

At gallery 2, you can sit back and enjoy a short film titled “Painting with history in a room filled with people with funny names.” The film explores the unity of human, machine and spirit. You can even see realistic looking cyborg figures made from used materials.

Gallery 3: Gan Siong King, My Video Making Practice

Here is another  film that you can enjoy!  This humorous reflection on Gan’s video practice is told through the form of the video essay itself. You can even stand a chance to meet Gan himself for a dialogue session.

Flirting Point

If you are feeling a little cheeky, this new exhibition even has a flirting point!

The flirting point returns at SAM Tanjong Pagar Distripark, in collaboration with ZoukOut. Despite the pandemic now, it shouldn’t stop us from interactions as long as we practice safe distancing measures!

Don’t miss out this exhibition if you are looking for somewhere to go over the weekends. Admission is FREE for all, till 14 February 2022.
