Suntec City celebrates National Day with a mega retro carnival

Only this and next weekends, Suntec City is organizing a nostalgic carnival, which allows Singaporeans to relive the 80s through old school snacks and food.

The Game Zone

There are two game zones, located at level one of the East and West wings.

At the East wing, children gets to take part in  free play activities like Kuey Kuey Bouncy Castle, Giant Snake & Ladder and Giant Pick Up Sticks.

There are also other ticketed game booths which you can redeem free game coupons using Suntec City mall receipts. (Min. spending S$54)

There is also “Ah Ma House” exhibit, which is a replica of homes in the 80s.

At the West wing, shoppers get to relive the kampong memories with traditional games like Five Stones, Chapteh, Goli, Zero-Point and more.

The Old School Biscuit Buffet (S$2 Only!)

Located at the East wing, shoppers just need to pay S$2 to fill up a bag with their favourite old-school snacks from traditional biscuit tins.

There are also other traditional snacks such as Kachang Puteh and Muah Chee.

Second Edition of Singapore Cat Festival to happen this weekend at Great World City

The second edition of the Singapore Cat Festival will happen over two days on 27 and 28 July 2019 at Great World City.

This year there are 36 curated brands selling cat-related products. In addition, there will also be a cat showcase and the Cat Welfare Society is also running an adoption drive. Click here for the program schedule.

Cat owners can also bring their cats to the festival, although they will have to be contained in secure transport crates or carriers.

Streat Singapore Food Festival has food, drinks and entertainment

The main event of Singapore Food Festival 2019, Streats, is back today and tomorrow (12 & 13 July 2019) with food, drinks and music.

This year’s theme is “Savour Singapore in Every Bite”.

The Food

12 F&B stalls will be serving delicious hawker food and modern interpretations of local cuisine. The operators includes:

Singapore Telco Price War continues as newest provider offers free one year unlimited data without contract

Singapore’s newest telco, TPG Singapore joins in the price war by offering free, contract-less mobile plan for 1 year.

The mobile plan comes with unlimited mobile data and customers get to also enjoy free 20 minutes outgoing call to local fixed lines and 20 SMSs every month.

However, the 4G speed is capped at 2GB per day. After that, the speed will be throttled to 1Mbps.

For comparison sake, Netflix recommends a 3 Mbps connection for quality stream. For general web surfing, emailing and social media, 1 Mbps is more than sufficient.

There are also no support for international roaming.

How to sign up?

Customers can simply sign up on TPG Singapore website and pick up the SIM card to begin using.

Some technical stuff to take note

TPG’s SIM card only works in 4G. This means it will not be compatible with older devices that are 3G and below.

Additionally, 4G VoLTE compatible device is required for incoming and outgoing calls.
