Chatuchak Night Market Pop-Up coming to Singapore from 7 Feb to 2 April 2023

The world’s first Chatuchak Night Market outside Thailand will be coming to Singapore for two months from 7 February to 2 April 2023.

This open-air market will open from Tuesdays to Sundays from 4.30pm to 10.30pm at The Grandstand South Carpark on Turf Club Road in Bukit Timah.

The market will have more than 180 different vendors selling street food, handicrafts, and antiques. Some of these vendors are original vendors flying in from the original venue in Bangkok.

In addition, there will also be around 200 seats for visitors to chill and soak in the vibrant atmosphere.

Here are some of the vendors we can look forward to:

CHA-CHAK THAI TEH TARIK (SATUN PROVINCE)

The Cha Chak (Thai milk tea), which is priced at SGD$4, comes with a tea-pulling performance by the vendor from Thailand’s southern province of Satun.

Besides the classic, they also offer Thai Green Milk Tea, Coffee, and Cocoa, all for SGD$4 each.

THAI ROTI PRATA (SATUN PROVINCE)

The Thai roti prata is slightly thinner, more yellow and chewier. Remember to try their signature dish, the Banana Roti (SGD$5.00).

The rotis are freshly prepared on the spot using butter instead of oil, and cooked till golden brown. It is then drizzled with a generous amount of condensed milk and cut into tiny squares which makes it easier for
sharing.

E-SARN SAUSAGE (NORTH-EASTERN THAILAND)

This sausage is unique to the E-Sarn part of North-eastern Thailand.
These grilled sausages are made from fermented meat, rice, and sometimes vermicelli noodles.

It is always served with a bunch of cabbage, fresh chilli peppers & dilled
ginger. There are 2 options when buying from a street vendor – One
is just plain grilled and the other with a sour taste to it.

Getting There

There will also be complimentary parking or free shuttle buses from Botanic Gardens, Clementi, and Toa Payoh.

Indoor Playground at Orchard transforms into house of horror this halloween

Orchard Central’s new indoor playground, X-SCAP8, is celebrating Halloween this year with 3 key fright zones.

Located on the 7th floor of Orchard Central, thrill seekers can look forward to these horrific activities..

Slasher House Obstacle Course

This Obstacle course is the centre stage for X-SCAP8’s first-ever Halloween Xtravaganza. Guests needs to maneuver around the house of gore to escape from the Obstacle course.

The Legend of the Red Apple

According to the urban legend, those who can peel a red apple in front of a mirror at midnight can see the image of their “future spouse”. However, if they fail, they will be haunted by the unwanted spirit.

In this challenge, guests enter a pitch-dark room, illuminated with nothing but the light from a candle. They then have to peel a red apple without breaking the skin with the help of a mirror.

Brave souls willing to complete the task will be handsomely rewarded with goodies.

Spook Magic Show

This is a spooky magic show in a dark haunted theatre. With only 7 thrill-seekers at a time, the show is an intimate experience that “questions your sanity and bravery”.

And many more..

In addition, the signature 10-meters obstacle course in the indoor playground has also been upgraded with a 10-meter-high rope course and more.

Guests who dress up for the Halloween event also gets to participate in the Scare Dress Parade and stand a chance to win attractive prizes!

Do note this event is only suitable for 18 years old and above and covered shoes are required.

Singapore’s rank was 4th last year. The significant drop in ranking is due to a lower score in the e-security pillar. However, the other pillars such as internet affordability, internet quality and e-government saw improvements.
