Golden Village releasing new Hello Kitty Collectible on 9 June 2019

Singaporeans love Hello Kitty.

Remember those days when McDonald introduced Hello Kitty plushies and people literally fought over it?

Starting today (10 June 2019), Hello Kitty fans can lay their hands on yet another Kitty merchandise when they watch movie at any Golden Village theater.

The combo set costs S$29.50 and it includes one Hello Kitty Popcorn bucket with regular size popcorn, one Hello Kitty collectible cup with a large drink and nachos.

Causeway Point and YewTee Point transforms into a Jurassic Park this June holidays

This June holidays, the atrium of Causeway Point and Yew Tee Point is transformed into a Jurassic Park with life-sized dinosaur statues in it, giving children an opportunity to take a ride on these prehistoric giants.

Besides these dinosaur statues, there are many dinosaurs themed activities that visitors can enjoy!

Dinosaurs Arts and Crafts Workshop

Simply spend S$30 in a maximum of 3 same-day receipts to learn how to DIY a dinosaur tail and paper dinosaurs hat.

Dinosaurs Movie Screening

At S$3.50 per hour, this Singapore KTV Chain is probably the cheapest to go to

We remembered the times when we were still (dirt) poor students: Going to the KTV with friends is considered a  luxury outing because of the exorbitant price.

Fast forward 10 years, with the entrance of budget karaoke chains like Teo Heng and Ten Dollar Club KTV, it’s more affordable for most of us.

Now, it looks like  the KTV prices are going down further with a new player in the industry – Playlist KTV.

About the Two Outlets

The family friendly KTV currently has two outlets. The West Coast CC branch offers 12 private rooms of different sizes while its VIP room can house up to 18 people. Aspiring singers can also sing in the hall in front of an audience. The other outlet at Sembawang CC is slightly smaller. It has 5 private rooms, with the biggest room able to house 9 pax.

Also, visitors can access  the song catalog from their phones. This saves time and the hassle of waiting for that friend who can’t decide what song to sing.

There is also a free drink for each 3 hours block booked.

However, note that there is a minimum requirement of 2 pax to book the small rooms. For West Coast CC outlets, minimum 3 pax required on Fridays, Saturdays and eves of public holiday nights.

Both outlets offer free wifi services and there are dart machines at the main hallway. Each play is S$1.

Artbox Style Food Festival arrives at Takashimaya

Let’s admit this – Singaporeans are sucker for food. This June, shoppers gets to enjoy a variety of street snacks, Artbox style, at the Food Fiesta happening at Takashimaya Basement 2 till 16 June 2019.

With more than 60 F&B outlets at this fiesta, featuring food mainly from Singapore, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and more!

Bubble tea fans will be thrilled to know that are more than 3 bubble tea stalls, including Taiwanese bubble tea brand Xing Fu Tang (幸福堂). They are famous for their tiger-striped Brown Sugar Boba Milk with creme brulee milk foam.

RWS brings Japan to Singapore this June with a 4 days only Summer Festival

Japanese food from award winning chefs

Try over 38 Japanese dishes across 22 F&B booths, with the best food gathered from nine prefectures in the country. Dishes retails from just SGD$3 each, including award-winning rice bowls by Japanese chefs. Some of the Japanese food includes Oyakodon, Donburi, Ramen, Yakiniku, Hokkaido milk ice cream and more.

We recommend the Chichibu Waraji Pork Miso Donburi, which serves slabs of juicy pork cutlets marinated in miso, then deep fried to crisp golden-brown perfection. It is served with onsen egg atop a bed of pearly white rice.

Large-Scale Cultural Performances

There are two large scale performances for the summer festival.

The Tokyo Koenji Awa-Odori Dance is an annual festivity in Japan where traditional dancers take over the street as well as an impressive display of “pole lanterns”. The Akita Kanto Performance  is a dance show with over 400 years of history which commemorating the Tanabata or star festivals.

Starbucks Singapore introduces 6 brand new tropical themed frappuccinos and desserts

The June holiday is here and Starbucks has introduced 6 brand new tropical themed beverages and desserts!

Tropical Frappuccino

Coffee Frappuccino blended with buttery caramel sauce. It is also drizzled with caramel, whipped cream and coffee spheres bursting with Brazilian coffee (SGD$8.20)

Refreshing watermelon juice and chia seeds are blended together with ice before being layered onto a layer of lychee-flavored whipped cream and lychee aloe cubes. (SGD$8.20)

Delicious blend of tangy yogurt, yuzu honey sauce, milk and ice, layered on top of citrusy yuzu jelly and finished with yuzu honey sauce. (SGD$7.90)
