Singapore’s first Otter-themed game experience opens at Garden by the Bay tomorrow

From tomorrow (15 Dec 2020) till 26 February 2021, there is a new Otter-themed game experience opening at Gardens by the Bay.

The attraction, “Otah & Friends”, is a 45-minutes story-based game experience. The goal is to find the hiding otter in the 2,500 sqft brightly colored set.

Here’s how the space looks like:

The set includes a living room, kitchen and a giant tree filled with interactive props and clues.

As a reward, visitors will end the experience with a backyard picnic filled with lemonade and cookies from homegrown online bakery, Whiskdom.

Visitors can also purchase Otah & Friends collectibles from the merchandise store.

Disney+ Video Streaming services to launch in Singapore on 23 February 2021

The highly anticipated streaming service, Disney+, will arrive in Singapore on 23 February 2021. There are currently two subscription plans. S$11.98 for a month or S$119.98 for a year. The monthly fee for Disney+ will be the same as the revised Netflix subscription for one screen.

The streaming platform will feature over 500 films and 15,000 episodes of content from Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, National Geographic and Star. Singapore is the first country to receive all six brands’ content on Disney+.

In addition, the streaming service will feature exclusive Disney+ Originals contents and specials including The Mandalorian, Marvel Studios’ WandaVision, Disney’s Lady and Tramp, Disney and Pixar’s Forky Asks a Question, Hamilton and more.

Previous movie hits including Marvel Studios’ – Avengers: Endgame, Infinity War, Black Panther; Disney’s live action adaptations, The Lion King, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast and more will can also be found on the platform together with general entertainment hits like How I met Your Mother, Family Guy, 9-1-1 and more.

Downtown East 12 days of Christmas flash deals, offering 2D1N Staycation at D’Resort at S$12

Downtown East is celebrating Christmas with a 12 days of Christmas flash deals, starting from 13 December 2020.

According to the organizer, the flash deals are worth more than S$60,000 of savings.

Changi Jurassic Mile lights up for Christmas, featuring 25m long light tunnel till 3 Jan 2021

In addition to the Dinosaurs themed go-kart at Changi T4, the Changi Airport Group has also lighted up the newly opened Changi Jurassic Mile.

The lights will be turned on from 6.30pm to 1am daily from now till 3 January 2021. Admission is free.

You can book your free slot to visit the Siloso Beach Sanrio characters light-up event from tomorrow

Sentosa will be lighting up its Siloso beach with Sanrio characters from 12 December 2020 till 10 January 2021.

Here’s a poster of the event:

Dubbed as the “Island Lights with Sanrio characters”, this light-up will feature seven larger-than-life light installations including Hello Kitty, Pompompurin, My Melody, Little Twin Stars and more.

Additionally, these beloved Sanrio characters will be posing against classic icons from Sentosa including the Sentosa Gateway, colorful water-slides from Fantasy Island and more.

Visitors will also be able to take photos and view the 12-metre-long LED neon outlines of the lovable Sanrio characters.

Due to safe distancing measures, visitors are required to RSVP for their visit. Bookings can be made up to five days in advance (starting tomorrow). Each slot is limited to five persons.

Following the recent Phase 3 announcement, visitors can also make bookings for up to 8 persons for visits from 28 December 2020 onwards.

There are three slots available each night.

  • 7.30pm – 8.30pm
  • 8.30pm – 9.30pm
  • 9.30pm – 10.30pm

The entrance of the light-up event is at Sapphire Pavilion along Siloso Beach. Simply present the reservation confirmation email with a valid identification to enjoy the event for free.

New water sports centre offering S$12/pax for 2 hours of Kayaking experience

A new water sports centre, Camelot Pte Ltd has opened its facility at Lower Seletar Reservoir.

As part of its opening promotion, it is offering its kayak rental at S$8/pax for one hour and S$12/pax for 2 hours.

Paddlers opting for the one hour promotion can walk-in during operating hours and pay via the vending machine. Paddlers going for two hour promotion have the additional option of booking online.

Paddlers are not required to have certification but will have to paddle within a demarcated zone. In addition, only 7 years old and above can enjoy the facility.

URA launches new nightly light show at Marina Bay for December 2020

From tonight (1 December 2020), the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) will illuminate the Marina Bay’s skyline with a light formation.

This light display is part of the Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2021 and employs 60 light beams. The show is choreographed to “symbolize hopes and aspirations for a new beginning.”

Each show is 3 minutes long and will happen every 15 minutes.

In addition, the light show will happen for the entire month of December 2020 from 8pm to 10.30pm.

Teo Heng selling own brand mic at S$150, comes with S$150 singing credit voucher

As more nightspots reopens this month under the pilot scheme, Teo Heng is planning to reopen its KTV rooms as a recreational venue.

However, no singing is allowed for the time being. Guests can bring in food and drinks to enjoy music videos on the karaoke system. They can also work, study and even sleep in the room. Board games will also be provided.

In addition, Teo Heng is also selling its professional-grade microphone , Wasuka (Hokkien for I like) to mitigate risk of transmission through sharing of microphones.

Each mic costs S$150 and it comes with S$150 Teo Heng voucher. These vouchers can be used when the KTV chain reopens.

Changi Airport T4 converted into a Dinosaur-themed go-kart, admission from S$12

The Kerbside’s taxi waiting area at Changi Airport Terminal 4 has been transformed into a dinosaurs themed go-kart arena from now till 31 December 2020.

Here’s how it looks like:

The dinosaurs themed go-kart arena comprises of sharp turns and bends and the electric go-karts can go up to 24km/hr.

However, participants must be at least nine years old as of 1 November 2020 and 1.3m in height. Participants are also required to wear covered shoes. Helmets will be provided.

However, guests can redeem a discounted pass with every S$30 (S$80 for supermarkets) spent in a single receipts at public areas at Terminal 1, 3 and 4.

Do note a maximum of four discounted activity passes can be redeemed in a single receipt.

NPark unveils a new dog run and bird perch at East Coast Park, largest in the east

NParks Singapore unveiled a new dog run and bird perch for visitors to bring their furry or feathered friends.  The new facilities are located at Parkland Green, within East Coast Park.

The dog run, at 0.2ha (2,000 sq m), is at least two times the size of the other existing largest  dog run in the east.

According to NParks Singapore, the perch was built using upcycled woods from East Coast Park. This was designed in consultation with animal community groups in Singapore.

Both the dog run and the bird perch were designed in consultation with the community and enhances pet-friendly amenities at the park
