IKEA Singapore holds online mega sale, with items retailing from S$1.90

For the month of June, IKEA Singapore is offering over 500 products at up to 50% discount at their online store. Items on sale includes furniture and other household items.

Xiaomi x Microhoo launches Mini Air-Conditioner at S$39.90

Microhoo, a company who has received funding from Xiaomi’s crowdfunding platform has recently launched its Mini Air-conditioner and is retailing on Qoo10 at S$39.90.

According to the company, the personal air-conditioning fan has an adjustable fan speed between 1 to 99. At its maximum, it can reach up to 1 meter and is able to lower the surrounding temperature by 10 degree Celsius.

However, it is recommended that the unit is not turned on for more than 6 hours per day.

Portable 1-litre iced tank

The mini air-conditioner comes with a portable 1-litre tank where you can fill it with iced water or simply put it in the refrigerator.

Mandopop Band Mayday to hold online concert on 31 May 2020, 8pm

Mayday fans who have attended their concerts know that the band always promises to visit their country the following year and they’re good at keeping their promises.

However, this May, with Covid-19 safety measures in place, the band is not able to perform in many countries.

Still keen to uphold the promises they have made to their fans last year, Mandopop Band Mayday has announced today that they will be having a free online concert titled “Mayday Live in the Sky” on 31 May 2020 at 8pm.

Uniqlo to debut AIRism mask that is cool and dries quickly

Japanese clothing company, Uniqlo will start selling face mask this summer at its stores.

The face mask uses the same material used for the brand’s AIRism underwear that is said to be cool and dries quickly.

According to Chairman and CEO Tadashi Yanai, the masks will be sold through Uniqlo stores and via e-commerce.

The company also mentioned its plan to donate about 5 million face masks and protective suits to the medical institution in Japan.

Asian All-Star Online Concert featuring Gem Tang, Karen Mok, Siwon Choi and more, 27 May 2020

An online charity concert featuring all asian stars will be livestreamed on 27 May 2020 at 8PM (Singapore Time) in support of Unicef.

The celebrity lineup includes concert headliner Siwon Choi (Super Junior), GEM Tang 邓紫棋, Karen Mok 莫文蔚, Jung Eun-Ji (APINK) and Namewee 黄明志.

Other notable performers include Thailand actor singer Mario Maurer, Youtube celebrity Sam Tsui and Singapore’s very own Jack Neo.

NDP 2020 Evening Show to be held at Star Vista, enough funpack for every Singapore household

The NDP executive committee has announced the National Day Parade (NDP) evening show will be held at The Star Performing Arts Centre with a reduction of 95% performers from the past years.

As such, the length of the performances are shorten. However, more local talents will be featured in the line-up, including the Home Team and SAF Music & Drama Company.

In addition, the committee is also observing closely to the Covid-19 guidelines and will announce in due time whether a live audience will be featured for the evening show. At the moment, the committee was operating on the assumption that the show will be broadcasted live with no spectators.

The chairman of the NDP executive committee, Brigadier-General Frederick Choo, also stated there will be enough funpacks for every Singaporean and PR household and will contain items that allow Singaporeans to interact with the show. More details about the funpack will be released at a later date.

Singapore Musicians including Charlie Lim, MICapella and 53A to hold Online Concert on 28 & 29 May 2020

Singapore musicians including Jack and Rai, MICapella, 53A, SHYE and Charlie Lim are coming together to raise funds to support local musicians, hawkers and front-liners affected by Covid-19.

The concert, Music For A Cause, is returning for its fifth and final edition on 28 & 29 May 2020 on Facebook Live. The music festival will take place over two sessions per day: 4pm to 6.15pm and 7pm to 9.15pm.

Virtual festival-goers will get to enjoy intimate performances from these musicians, as well as interact and live chat with their favourite music acts through the virtual meet and greet.

M1 to give affected users one week rebate on home broadband monthly fee

M1 has announced they will be offering one week rebate on home broadband fees to users affected by service outage on 12 May 2020.

To claim the rebate, affected users will be sent a one-click link via SMS and email from today (14 May 2020).

M1 Chief Executive Office, Manjot Singh Mann has also apologized for the disruption and “are taking extra measures to prevent recurrence of such incidents.”

In addition, the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) has also announced that investigations had been launched into the disruption.
