Carousell to hold mega fair this weekend and there are over 300 booths to shop from

E-commerce site, Carousell will be holding its annual flagship event this weekend at the Marina Bay Sands.

There are more than 300 sellers with items ranging from uniquely handcrafted goods, jewellery, vintage clothes, retro games, home decor and more at the bazaar. Most of the items are exclusive to this event.

UPDATED: Korean star Lee Seung-gi to hold fans meet in Singapore on 26 October 2019

Korean star Lee Seung Gi is set to visit Singapore on 26 October 2019 for a fan meet session. The last time he was here was last year’s July.

Presale ticketing starts on 19 August from 10am for all IMC Live Global fans. Public ticket sale will commence the following day (20 August 2019) from 10am here. Tickets retail from S$138 to S$248.

All VIP ticket holders will also receive a mystery gift and are entitled to a group photo-taking session (30 pax per group) with Lee Seung Gi.

Lucky fans will also stand to win group photo passes and autographed posters by Lee Seung Gi himself!

This upcoming fan meet is titled Vagabond Voyage and is part of his promotions for his new drama, “Vagabond”.

Starring alongside Suzy and Shin Sung-rok, the actor’s new spy, thriller action drama will be premiering in September.

EXO to hold concert at Singapore Indoor Stadium on 15 September 2019

South Korea boyband EXO has confirmed its fifth concert tour, ‘EXO PLANET #5 – EXplOration’ and will tour Hong Kong, Manila, Singapore, Bangkok, Taipei and Japan.

However, only Suho, Baekhyun, Chen, Chanyeol, Kai and Sehun will be participating in the concert. Xiumin and D.O. will not be able to participate due to military commitment. Lay will also not be present due to prior work engagements in China.

The Singapore concert would be held on 15 September 2019 at 3pm at  the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Ticketing details will be released soon.

Meteor showers expected to light up Singapore’s night skies on 12 August 2019

The Perseids Meteor showers, one of the best meteor showers to observe,  is expected to light up Singapore’s night skies later tonight.  It peaks on the night of 12th August and the dawn of 13th August at about 2.30am.

The Perseids is able to produce up to 90 meteors per hour at its peak this year and a large number of bright meteors including fireballs could occasionally be sighted.

However in Singapore, Perseids will not appear as a shower. Instead, they will be coming in one by one.

No equipment is needed to observe this event. However, having a vantage point (one where the view is not blocked by trees, buildings and etc) and little light pollution will greatly increase our odds of witnessing the spectacular astrological event.

Popular Gothic Charcoal Ice-cream shop from Los Angeles opens its flagship store at Wheelock Place

Yet another popular dessert shop from overseas has set its foot in Singapore.

This time, the ice-cream store is from Los Angeles. This brand, Little Damage has recently opened its first shop in Singapore at Wheelock Place.

Famed for its soft serves, charcoal cones and vegan varieties, this monochromatic shop attracts a cult following with its goth-inspired creations.

Currently, the Singapore outlet has four flavours – Coffee Caramel (S$7), White Chocolate (S$7), Unicorn Tears (S$7) and Vegan Cookie Butter (S$7.50).

Each ice-cream comes with one complimentary topping which includes popcorn (additional S$1), rainbow sprinkle, chocolate chips, rainbow cornflakes, chocolate balls and desiccated coconut.

Besides ice-cream, Little Damage also has its prized merchandise. They include a series of charcoal totes (S$12), tumblers (S$25), and button pins (S$6).

Still feeling blue from the National Day celebrations?

Residents of Bishan, Geylang Serai, Jurong East, Punggol and Woodlands will be having post National Day carnivals tonight (10 August 2019) with fireworks displays that last 4-minutes.

The fireworks would start right after the mobile column makes its way to the five heartland areas at about 6.45pm.

This is the first time in over a decade that the NDP executive committee has hosted firework displays in the heartlands.
