To celebrate Sesame Street’s 50th anniversary, a Sesame Street themed carnival is scheduled to happen on 17 November 2019 at Our Tampines Hub.

Besides carnival games, there will also be quizzes and activities for the carnival-goers. Some of the Sesame Street’s characters will also be present at the carnival for meet-and-greet.

5km Fun Run

The highlight for this carnival is the 5km fun run. This family oriented run is suitable for all ages and fitness levels.

Participants will witness a giant birthday cake blowout before being flagged off with a countdown from Count von Count, then getting showered with Abby’s Magic Dust as they begin their run.

Ticket Options

Tickets cost between S$42 and S$126, which includes access to the carnival and the 5km run, merchandise such as a dri-fit Sesame Street t-shirt, a medal, socks and more.

Those who complete the run will also receive an e-certificate.

The most expensive package, GO BIG WITH BIG BIRD (S$126) comes with an exclusive VIP pass which allows runners to be in the first flag off wave of the run and fast lanes for photo opportunity with the Sesame Street’s Characters and access to the lounge with “luxury comfort”.

Big Hit Entertainment, the artiste management company behind K-pop acts like BTS, TXT and more recently GFriend will be holding audition in Singapore on 12 October 2019.

This is part of the company’s effort to look for talents to fill a new girl group. The auditions will be held in 16 cities around the world and Singapore is one of them.

Big Hit CEO Bang Si-Hyuk and CBO Min Hee-jin will take the lead in planning the new group, expected to debut in 2021.

The company has yet to announce audition details.

The much anticipated Samsung Galaxy Fold will be officially launched in Singapore on 18 September 2019 at S$3,088.

The Samsung Galaxy Fold opens to a 7.3-inch screen like a tablet and when you close it, it becomes an easy-to-carry smartphone with a 4.6-inch display screen.

This device is available in two colors, cosmos black and space silver and comes with 12GB RAM and 512GB of storage space.

Multi-tasking

Samsung Galaxy Fold allows user to split the screen display  and work on them simultaneously. Users can also shift and resize the windows with a tap and drag.

Cameras

The Galaxy Fold features 6 camera lenses.

There are 3 on the back, which includes a 16MP Ultra Wide Camera, 12MP Wide-angle Camera and 12MP Telephoto Camera.

The two cameras at the back of the phone are the 10MP Selfie Camera and 8MP RGB Depth Camera.

Finally at the cover, there is a 10MP Selfie Camera.

The phone will be available at both the Samsung stores and local telcos.

As the Mid-Autumn Festival approaches, many places in Singapore are adorned with dazzling lights. This year, Vivocity has transformed its Level 3 Sky Park into an Alice in Wonderland inspired lantern exhibition.

This light exhibition, titled Curious Adventures in Wonderland, has 5 large centerpieces. This exhibition happens from now till 22 September 2019.

Our Experience

Overall, the displays are beautiful and fun. Though there are several difficulties. For one, we had to squeeze through the crowd to take an IG worthy photo.

And as noobs to photography, we spent a long time trying to adjust the ISO to take pictures that doesn’t darken our models.

Sentosa’s Siloso Beach will be paying a big tribute to Star Wars from this Saturday (31 August 2019) to 15 September 2019.

The event, Sentosa Sandation: Star Wars Edition, has 20 massive sand sculptures featuring Star Wars characters. In additional, there is also a sand sculpting competition and sand sculpting workshops.

The Sapphire Pavilion at Siloso Beach will also be selling exclusive bespoke Star Wars themed merchandise. This includes glow in the dark T-shirts and customisable tote bags.

During the first weekend of the event, the Palawan Green will also be screening Star Wars movies.
